In 1989, Peter was selected by NASA to become a member of its nationally recognized Space Art Program. This program documents major aerospace activities by recording them in artwork.  He spent a week touring, sketching, and photographing the activities at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in 1989. He also witnessed the exciting launch of the space shuttle Atlantis that carried the Venus probe Magellan. From the experience Peter created the painting Voyage to Venus that now hangs in NASA’s permanent art collection.
